Merging Theory & Practice

Dramaturgy

I enjoy serving as a dramaturg and offering my 2 cents in the rehearsal room. I have an eye for detail and enjoy collaborating with artists to help them achieve their visions.

Thick Like Me

Thick Like Me is about Body Liberation. We focus on the intersection of fat Black Women in Dance to resist and dismantle the overlapping systemic injustices of patriarchy, racism, and fatphobia in the mind, body, and soul. Through exposing oppressive hierarchies and celebrating fat Black Women in dance and beyond, we move collectively toward justice. As a dance collective, we root ourselves in Black feminist praxis that fully embraces academic theory, embodiment, and action to promote the liberation of all bodies.

Collaborators: Jazelynn Goudy & Davianna Griffin

Choreography

Hope

I am interested in creating choreography with overt social justice themes. I aim to create space for arts activism in my works as they connect to larger themes.
